Meet Deb Atchison (just Deb, never Debbie!), a dynamic educator, international educational technology consultant, and quilting enthusiast living in the Dallas, TX area. Deb has been with Legit Kits from the very beginning and helped to develop the Legit Kits Certified Instructor program. 

As an educator, Deb has taught students of all ages, from toddlers to seniors, and notably served as the personal homeschool teacher for Eddie Murphy's children. A lifelong educator, she currently leads professional learning initiatives for a virtual reality education company, the Prayer Quilt Ministry at her church and is also a regional coordinator for Quilt Beyond Borders, which shares beautiful quilts with children in need all over the world. Alongside this, she has established her own quilt teaching business, sharing her passion for quilting globally. 

As a Legit Kits Certified Instructor and Ambassador, Deb's passion for teaching Foundation Paper Piecing shines brightly through her Legit Kits classes, lectures, and retreats.

Time as a Legit Kits Certified Instructor: I stalked them on social media for awhile but ran into Mike at the 2021 Houston Quilt show and started to test their patterns shortly after!. I bugged Mike about a Certified Instructor program so much until he finally asked me if I wanted to develop and run the program!

Favorite Pattern: Usually the one I’m working on. But I also LOVE Starry Night

Locations served: I live in Dallas, TX but I travel the US and worldwide to teach quilting workshops and technology integration for teachers.
